Timeline

1979

Mitchell Roy (Chip) Bishop was Born in Thomasville,Georgia on August 22, 1979 at 13 minutes past the midnight hour of August 21st which is his brother's (Jody) birthday. Being 8 years apart, they joyously shared many birthdays over the years.

He was premature weighing only 4 lbs 6 oz and spent 3 1/2 months in the neo-natal unit in Columbus, GA. He had many special nurses and doctors but Jan Rabon Rice was his special angel. Chip would later be the Ring Bearer at her wedding to Chris Rice in Columbus.

His family was told that he would not live but our God is the Author of All Things. After 58 days on a respirator, God's decision was that he would live.

May 1997

Graduated from Cairo High School!

Was that ever a memorial night with Graduation exercises outside in the Football Stadium. It was an evening of torrential rains and never slacked up. But we were all excited anyway.

We teased Chip that they let him graduate just to get rid of him.

July 10, 1999

Chip and Becky's Wedding Day!

2002 - Christmas

For Christmas, Chip and Becky announced they were expecting a baby by giving us the home pregnancy test and the first sonigram. We were shocked but extremely excited!

August 26, 2003

Our Baby Girl was born!
Graci Macayla Bishop

2004

Passed away on Monday, June 14, 2004 at 3:54 PM, at the age of 24.

Chip was killed instantly in a one vehicle traffic accident after hydroplaning in water on a country paved highway hitting a bridge - less than 5 miles from his parents' home in Cairo, GA. He was found by a God-loving man who feverishly prayed for Chip even though he knew it was too late. He told us that all he could see was his wedding band and knew that he had a family. Thank you, God, for placing this person by his side.

Chip left a 10 month old daughter, Graci Macayla Bishop for his wife, families and friends to love - she is truly a precious gift from our Heavenly Father.

The picture was a sign that Chip made (from Q-tips) for Graci and Becky when he returned to work after being home with "his girls" after Graci's birth.
